Welcome to Fort Worth

A beautiful city full of history and western culture

The fifth largest city in Texas, Fort Worth attracts more than nine million visitors as the state’s number one tourist destination. The most Texan of all cities in the state, it predates its neighboring city Dallas, beginning as a small army outpost in 1849. Embracing its western roots through design, architecture, and atmosphere, Fort Worth is known for culture, fun, and good southern hospitality. It continues to grow, combining the upcoming industries and businesses with its history, culture, and oil and cattle heritage.

What to Love

  • A big city with a small-town feel
  • A great community with a fun atmosphere
  • The home of western culture

Local Lifestyle

Despite the size of the city, it has the charm of a small town. Managing to mix lively and relaxing, Fort Worth’s population is friendly and welcoming. It boasts various activities and experiences everyone can enjoy. Vibrant, fun, and accessible, Fort Worth is one of the fastest-growing places in the United States. Nevertheless, it is the best location for a tranquil lifestyle in the state, providing all the activities and amenities of a big city with a small-town atmosphere.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Serving food with flavors from all over the world but still rooted in southern cooking, The Beast & Company brings the classics back in a dining experience that is both unique and surprising. The menu is seasonally driven, and the service is top-notch. This southern-rooted, globally-inspired restaurant is a must-try.

Chef Richard Sandoval brings vibrant flavors to the table as he combines Central and South America’s welcoming dining culture through Pan-Latin dishes with hints of a traditional steakhouse. In honor of local tradition, all meals at Toro Toro are designed for family-style sharing. The restaurant also serves classical Latin margaritas, cocktails, and mojitos, hand-crafted with fresh ingredients.

Found within the Sinclair Hotel, the Wicked Bucher matches the vibrant and cosmopolitan architecture with an art deco style and a glamorous atmosphere. The steakhouse serves delectable dishes and sophisticated drinks. Reata Restaurant rises to the occasion, whether it's a business luncheon, buffet reception, or dinner celebration. With an energetic and elegant atmosphere, the upscale restaurant is ranch-themed, with a rooftop bar showcasing Fort Worth.

Things to Do

The Fort Worth Zoo houses almost 7,000 animals and contributes to worldwide conservation efforts. The zoo provides education, research, and outreach to nurture environmental and wildlife management, understanding, and respect.

In a city where western heritage is highly valued, Stockyards National Historic District is the best place to see it. With wooden corrals and original brick walkways, the facility showcases the true story of the livestock industry. Just like it happened throughout the years, Stockyards hosts a twice-daily cattle drive – the only one in the world. It is one of Texas’s top tourist spots and provides shopping and dining venues.

Sundance Square is the home of various entertainment venues, from live music and theater to art festivals. Outdoor dining, retailers, and restaurants are found around the square. With a modern design combined with historic western architecture, the square is very popular. Its plaza is one of the United States’ most visited outdoor socializing spots, sometimes called the “living room of Fort Worth.”

Showcasing a collection of Native American, Pre-Columbian, African-American, European, and Asian artifacts and artwork, the Kimbell Art Museum was founded in 1972 and is a well-known European and Asian-focused gallery. The building is a Louis Kahn design, and the collection contains 350 items, covering time periods and individual aesthetically and historically important moments.
