Things to Do

Founded in 2001, the American Airlines Center is the critically acclaimed setting of many live entertainment and sporting events. Constantly striving for excellence and continually rated as one of the world’s busiest arenas, the stadium boasts several event plazas and retractable seating, easily reverting from a 20,000-seat basketball court to a hockey rink.

Since 1886, the State Fair of Texas has promoted Texas agriculture, community involvement, and education through entertainment as a nonprofit dedicated to the community. Fair Park is a National Historic Landmark with a long and rich history, and the fair is one of the largest in the United States and the longest at 24 days.

Klyde Warren Park is a 5.2-acre deck park and one of Dallas’ central gathering places. The manufactured green space crosses over the Woodall Rodgers Freeway and provides programs, educational opportunities, and outdoor concerts, among many other events.

As a lake of over 1,000 acres, White Rock Lake hosts many runs and special events, making it one of the busiest and most popular Dallas parks. One of the best areas in the city to enjoy wildlife and nature, the lake has a 9.33-mile hiking and biking trail, White Rock Lake Museum, Bath House Cultural Center, bird watching area, and much more.

The Dallas Aquarium opened in 1992, allowing visitors to learn about and experience various animals and wildlife up close for almost 30 years.
